Abstract

ABSTRACTPeople living with HIV / AIDS need support because this disease is chronic and requires comprehensive treatment. This support is very important especially the support obtained from the family. Support is one of the factors that affect quality of life. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between family support and the quality of life for People living with HIV / AIDS at Poly Sehati Dr Sosodoro Djatikoesoemo Hospital in 2019.This study uses an analytical method, with a cross sectional approach. The population is the average visit of HIV / AIDS patients at the Poly Sehati Hospital Dr. R. Sosodoro Djatikoesoemo from January to November 2018 as many as 300 people, and a sample of 72 people. Probability sampling sampling technique with systematic random sampling technique. Retrieving data with questionnaires, then editing, coding, scoring, tabulating were analyzed by spearman rho statistical test.The results of this study showed that from 72 respondents there were 43 respondents who received family support with moderate criteria more than half of the respondents had sufficient quality of life as many as 37 people (51.39%). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between family support and the quality of life for People living with HIV / AIDS at Poly Sehati Dr. R. Sosodoro DjatikoesoemoHospital in 2019. It is expected that the respondent's family will increase support so that the respondent feels valued and loved by the family and motivated to improve their quality of life Keywords : family, support, quality of life, HIV / AIDS, ODHA
