DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DAN PERILAKU MEROKOK PADA REMAJA DI SMK MUHAMMADIYAH BANGUNJIWO KASIHAN BANTUL YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

Background: Smoking is a behavior that is harmful to health because it can trigger various diseases. Besides smoking behavior due to factors from within themselves as well caused by environmental factors. in the social environment there is social support, support social is the giving and receiving of support that aims to improve well-being so that individuals are not affected to smoke behavior.Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of social support with smoking behavior in adolescents at SMK Muhammadiyah Bangunjiwo Kasihan Bantul YogyakartaMethod: This study uses a cross-sectional design. Population 87 respondents andusing a simple random sampling technique obtained a sample of 47respondent. Data analysis using Kendall TauResult: The results of this study on social support variables most of the respondents havelow social support (57.4%).  While smoking behavior is mostly in the mild category (66.0%). In this research using Kendall Tau shows results on social support variables with behaviorsmoking p = 0.026 (p <0.05)Conclusion:There is correlation between social support and smoking behavior in adolescent at SMK Muhammadiyah Bangunjiwo Kasihan Bantul YogyakartaKeyword:social support, smoking, adolescent
