THE RELATIONSHIP OF DRUG COMPLIANCE LEVEL IN MENTAL PATIENTS WITH RECURRENT MENTAL DISORDER AT KALITIDU COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER BOJONEGORO REGENCY 2017

Abstract

ABSTRACTDrug  compliance is  a patient's  behavior  in  taking medication correctly  about the dosage, frequency and time.  Noncompliance 1,1,1.th medication in psychiatric patients results in patients at risk of recurrence.  The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of drug  compliance  level  in  mental patients   with  recurrent  mental  disorder  at  Kalitidu Community Health Center Bojonegoro Regency.Comparative analytic design,  case control approach. Population in case of 14 people and control 17  people. case sample 14 respondent and control 14 respondent, with simple random sampling and total sampling. The independent variable is the level of medication adherence  and  the dependent  variable  is  a recurrent  mental  disorder. Instrument  witltquestionnaire and data documentation, editing, coding, scoring, tabulating and Wilcoxon testanalysis with a(0.05).The results of the study were more than half of respondents (patients with recurrent mental disorders) with low medication compliance race (57.1 %), Iess than half of respondents (patients with new psychiatric disorders) with medication adherence level in the moderate category   (42.9  %) and Wilcoxon test  results obtained significant value p (0.029) <a (0.05) which means HJ accepted, which means there is a correlation level of medication compliance in mental patients with recurrent mental disorders at Kalitidu Puskesmas Bojonegoro Regency 2017.To improve patient  compliance  in  taking  medication,   health  workers  can provide patients  and families   with  an  understanding  of  the  importance  of taking  medication. explaining  therapeutic  effects,  and  maintaining good relationships  with patients.  Socialsupport is needed in patients with mental disorders, especiallysupport fromfamilies with theaim that patients can live, learn, and work in the community again. Keywords: Drug Compliance, Mental Disorders Recurring.
